4th OF JULY PARTY AT RANDY'S - 2009

   As it is every year, the 4th of July party at Randy's house was a hit in 2009.  The front lawn, the back porch, the living room, the kitchen, the street, the alley... they were all crowded with people who knew that Randy's house was the place to be as early as 3 pm.  Scheduled to perform were four bands:  Angel Lebron y Sabor Latino, Chino Espinoza y los Duenos del Son, Son Mayor and Lucky 7.  Likewise were at least five DJs, including Kenny, who made people chastise the concrete in the back porch as they danced to the beautiful voice of Angel Canales.

   Always a treat, L.A. salseros and salseras enjoyed themselves with food, drinks, and the company of fellow dancers that made the trip to Venice from as far away as San Francisco... even the East Coast!  

   I left early, so I have two pictures of Son Mayor courtesy of Brian Ng and no pictures of Lucky 7.  Any of you who want to share the ones you took of those two groups, send them my way!
