New York Yankees - 1

Los Angeles Angels - 4

And that was fun!

I went out on a date for the opening night of the season at Angel's Stadium.  I was dined and wined, given a present, entertained until 3 am, and never had to even think about putting out!  Gosh, having girlfriends is great!

My friend Shelly invited Christina and I to meet at The Catch, a restaurant right across the street from the Stadium, on State College Blvd.  Fancy place I've decided, heck, even the Valet were white people! The Catch has indoor and outdoor dining, each side with its own particular ambiance.  The indoor dining is elegant and subdued, while the outdoor is boisterous - the biker bunch was out there.  The Catch's menu has a Cigar section. I loved that!

A few ticket scalpers hang out right outside the restaurant.  Shelly got three seats on the Terrace level at a pretty good price.  [This won't get her arrested, will it?]  We were so close to the field that we kept on pretending we could pinch the player's butts!

Does anyone know why monkeys are the stuffed animal of choice at Angel Stadium?  I really have no idea, but everyone there seemed to have one.  And those of us who didn't, got one.

We had a fantastic evening.  There are things that are so peculiar to a baseball game... the beer, the vendors, the attendants [one told Shelly he's been single for 30 years - I think he wants her, haha], the 7th inning stretch, [hey, how cool is this! Lisa Tucker from American Idol led the "Take me out to the ballll gameeee" song], and at Angel's Stadium, the fireworks.

I was ever so happy to be there, and as I told Shelly, I'll be her date anytime.

Here's to a new season of baseball.  Go Dodgers!  ok ok... go Angels!  ::grin::

But most importantly... clink clink, here here, hurray hurray.... for girlfriends!
