Fashion Show
boxeight Fashion Week 2009 - March 13-15
When fashion is the
subject, Angelinos do not need to go to New York nor Milan.
Fashion thrives just as well in Los Angeles, as was proven over the
weekend on the boxeight runways.
boxeight, a community of about 50
fashion artists in LA, put together a splendid show at the historical
Los Angeles Theatre, which baroque inspired decor seemed to compete with
the thousands of beautiful people who, wearing the best out of the
closets, attended the event.
Tall, slender, serious. and elegant models
walked the creations by Sjobeck, Maxine Dillon, and Jazmin Whitley
Sunday evening. (If they are the measure for incoming fashion,
watch out for combinations of purple and aquamarine, and tons of golden
items and platform shoes.)
The crowd included recognizable faces -
thanks to reality television - such as Jerell Scott, a Project Runway
participant in Season 5, and Lisa, a contestant in American Top Model 5.
boxeight Fashion Week closed with an
afterparty at KIN Pop-up nightclub, held in the lower level of the
theater. This year's boxeight designers have their
creations available for view and purchase on shopflick.com
