ORQUESTA CHARANGOA AT THE CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION IN PALMDALE - May
2008
To be honest, the music was much better than the attendance. The
Marie Kerr Park was nice, the weather perfect, but the crowd was slow to
come in. However, those present were entertained first by Orquesta
Charangoa [http://www.charangoa.com
], then by the cumbia band Sonora Dinamita, followed by a
"Dancing with Stars," Palmdale's own version of the TV show, in which
members of the town's government trained with the instructors from
AVSalsa [http://www.avsalsa.com ]
to compete against each other. That was fun. The winner was
Palmdale Councilman Steve Knight. He did pretty good!
