A WORKSHOP WITH WILSON "CHEMBO" CORNIEL - October 13, 2007

"Chembo" Corniel is a well-known Newyorican conguero, who has played with Tito Puente, Chucho Valdez, Bobby Sanabria, Larry Harlow and the likes, and has extensively traveled the world with his music.  He visited Los Angeles last week to perform at the Jazz Bakery with the Dave Valentin Quintet. 

As part of his visit, he held a 90 minute percussion workshop in downtown L.A. where a few local congueros, and aspiring congueros, practiced patterns and interacted with "Chembo." Below are a few pictures and a short clip of the workshop.
