EL FESTIVAL COLOMBIANO, IN PICO RIVERA - July 22, 2007

These are a few pictures taken at the Festival Colombiano, at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena, on Sunday. I was there for about three hours, from 4 pm to just after 7 pm.  As I walked in, Sanalejo, a "rock en espaņol" band was playing.  They were followed by La Palabra, backed by a band made up of good local musicians, all familiar faces, and accompanied by the "Palabra dancers".

They had just wrapped up the set when I left.  I had left the most important part of my family at home...(everybody!)

Therefore, and unfortunately, I did not get to see Luisito Carrion perform.  I assume he must have started after 7.30 pm, backed by Johnny Polanco y su Conjunto Amistad.  I'm guessing so, because I saw several of the band members there.

As usual, it turned out to be a good party.  Colombians are party people for sure!

I scored an El Cantante t-shirt from the El Cantante film representing crew.  Thank you very much.  And thanks to http://www.vivamigente.com for inviting me to the party.

One more thing, my condolences go to John Peņa, one of the promoters for this event, whose father passed away just hours before the event.  May he rest in peace.
