LOS ANGELES SALSA CONGRESS - DAY 3 - MAY 31st, 2008

Johnny Polanco and the 17 piece "L.A. Congress Band"

Johnny Polanco and his 17 piece band rocked the house last night.  Saturday night was, personally, the most enjoyable night so far of Congress.  Johnny played Tito Puente's music on the 8th anniversary of Tito's death (Puente died May 31st, 2000) and the music was incredible.

With him on stage, as a most special treat, was el Dandy Rodriguez. Alfredo De La Fe accompanied them for a song or two, and walked into the dance room to play around the dancers. Johnny played the vibes, which we don't get to him do often enough.  The sound of the entire orchestra was fabulous.

I realize my write-ups get shorter and shorter as the days go by, but I am now working on sleep deprivation!  One night to go!
