| Well, that was fun!
It was hot, but not too much. And this year I got a hold of some
tamales before they sold out, and of some Imperialitas, yeayyy!
There was a good turn out. I saw
folks that I had not seen in two years -that was nice, honest -. And danced
to the music of DJ Tico, Orquesta Opa Opa, and Chino Espinoza y los
Duenos del Son. I'm so proud of all our Costa Rican talent!
Before I forget... if anybody paid
attention to my e-mail, sorry I did not know about the extra $5 that
would be charged at the entrance. That was a total surprise to me.
Supposedly it was communicated... just not to me, 'cuz I never heard about it!
::sigh::
Here's a few pictures. I tried to
show through them the highlights of the day. Enjoy!

Our 'camp'
Shame on me! I didn't take a
single
picture of any of the soccer playing going on all over the place.
Needless to say, there was plenty, almost as much as all the talk about
'Saprisa' and 'La Liga'.
Now, seeing the pictures, and thinking in
retrospect, we really had a nice afternoon. In our case, a full
one, from noon to 6 pm. The music, the happy faces, the t-shirts
proclaiming 'Costa Rica' in all colors and sizes, and the accent that is
so familiar to me, yet I so rarely hear these days, all made it a very nice
experience. I saw no fights, no out-of-mind drunks, no hassle of
any sort. Good people we Costa Ricans are!, as well as all the
non-ticos that came to visit with us. Someday, when we learn to
not leave messes like these
in every corner, we will be even better!
:P
We will be there again next year! :)
