EDDIE SANTIAGO AT THE CONGA ROOM - May 21, 2009

   Huge turn out at the Conga Room on Thursday night!  Two crowds - one present on account of the dance competition and another one on account of Eddie Santiago - packed the place. 

   Just a note on the competitions, Espie and her partner were the couple eliminated.  Unfortunately I don't know any of the other contestants' names, except Courtney and the friend who used to dance at Sabor Restaurante. 

   Of Eddie Santiago I'll say that he looked younger than I was expecting and that the fervor of his fans surprised me.  Santiago performed backed by a band made up of some of L.A.'s greats and usual suspects, which included Otto Granillo, Denis Jiron, Carlos Bustamante, Cesar Espinoza, James Zavaleta, and more. 

   Great evening on its own, made flashier by Carlos Alvarez of KLOVE, the comedian Paul Rodriguez, and the expectations of the crowd to make it in the 11 pm clip on Univision.
