THE PONCHO SANCHEZ, EDDIE PALMIERI AND SERGIO MENDEZ'S BANDS AT THE
HOLLYWOOD BOWL - 7.8.09
One of the few Latin events scheduled this year at the
Hollywood Bowl was held this Wednesday night with the participation of
the Poncho Sanchez, Eddie Palmieri and Sergio Mendez's bands.
Blessed by a beautiful Californian evening, the concert
opened up with Chicano Poncho Sanchez and his
Latin Jazz band, which performed Latin Jazz, boleros, even a Salsa.
Thanks to an impressive revolving stage that allows two sets of
instruments to be ready at once, the show continued without interruption
with Puerto Rican Palmieri and his La Perfecta II. Brazilian Sergio Mendez and his band
closed the concert, featuring the
vocals of Mendez's wife, Gracinha Leporace, the capoeira moves of his
percussionist, and the expected finale by female samba dancers in
colorful attires.
