CARLOS GUERRERO AND MACONDO AT THE FOGO DE ANDRE - 2/14/09
A mostly Colombian crowd gathered at The Fogo de Andre, a
Brazilian Churrasqueria in El Monte, to celebrate Valentine's Day.
A band made up by well-known Los Angeles musicians (such as Luis Eric
Gonzalez, Arnulfo Vasquez, and David Urquidi) backed the voices of
Macondo, ex singer for La Sonora Dinamita, and Carlos Guerrero,
previously with Grupo Niche and Grupo Gale. Macondo sang a mix of
Cumbia and Salsa songs followed by an all Salsa set by Guerrero, who was
said to be now working on a solo album.
More Salsa is planned at the Fogo de Andre, starting
February 21 with "Sabados Sabrosos." (See flyer with details on the main
calendar).
