| The Rock Inn
is about 18 miles West off the 14 freeway on Palmdale Blvd. On
Sundays, a rock band plays from 1 pm to 5pm. It is a restaurant, a
bar, and a hotel, well frequented by families as well as bikers.

Lake Elizabeth
is
on the way to The Rock Inn from the 14 freeway. Based on what we
saw today, it is a good spot for sailing and trout fishing.
Interesting bit: this lake was created by seismic activity and
man-helped to stay as is. More information at

The Vasquez Rocks County Park
is off the 14 freeway at Agua Dulce. The exact address is 10700 W.
Escondido Canyon Rd., Agua Dulce, CA 91350. We stopped by on our
way back to L.A. from Lake Elizabeth. It is a small park, but with
impressive rock formations, the result of years of earthquake activity.
Its history is fascinating, its
name going back to the mid 1800's. Read about it at

We had lunch at The Rock Inn,
stopped by at Lake Elizabeth, and visited the Vasquez Rocks all in a
matter of about six hours. It makes for a very fun Sunday.
Do try it!
